THE IRANIAN AMERICANS chronicles the underreported history of a group of immigrants finding refuge, overcoming adversity and ultimately creating new lives in the United States. It is an emotional account of displacement told by more than 25 Iranians who were uprooted from their home and heritage and built completely new lives in the U.S. THE IRANIAN AMERICANS is the story of what it means to be Iranian in the United States.

Comments about PBS The Iranian Americans DVD:

I liked the program very much and thanks to PBS and supporters for providing a venue where the often untold story is reflected.
The fantasitc and rare footage of Tehran Airport and US Immigration office in Tehran brings back a lot of memories for those of us who lived that stormy time.
To average Americans who are bambarded by the negative image of Iran and Iranians, it provides a true and unbias image that not all Iranians are Muslem and nor do we hold anything against people of Jewish faith or Israel . In fact, Daniel and Ester were all part of the Persian Government some 2600 years ago. It shows our Armenian and Jewish minority and provides a glimpse of what we all went through to come to the US.
We continue to suffer under representation and daily defacto prejudism in places like Apple stores etc. whom neglect the laws and put in their own spin when dealing with Iranian Americans.
All-in-all a very well done episode which shows every day ordinary Iranian-American who pursue normal lives and happiness as was advocated by our Founding Fathers and the constitution.

Thank you PBS, the producers and sponsers for allowing our story being told just like many other groups such as Irish or Italians.

I highly recommend buying the DVD
