The title says it all. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a towering hero in a century that saw too few of them, and this DVD manages at least to give the viewer a glimpse of the faith that inspired him in the course of presenting the drama of his unwavering course of self-sacrifice, in giving up a safe and respected position in the U.S. to follow his conscience toward almost certain death in returning to resist the Nazis in his native Germany. It is only too bad that the brevity of the presentation does not allow a more profound look into the faith that led him on this lonely course.
