Many mysteries surround her. More mountains, lakes and streams bear her name than any other North American woman. Across the Nation statues have been erected in honor of her memory. This one hour program explores the life of Sacagawea from the rich oral history of the Augadika Shoshoni, Mandan Hidatsa and the Nez Perce Native American tribes, as well as the historical account taken from the journals of the Corps of Discovery.

Comments about PBS The Journey of Sacagawea DVD:

This is a fine production with so much input from Native Americans from her tribe and her adopted tribe. It seemed odd that the young woman portraying her had reddish hair but this is a minor quibble.
I would have given this a 5 star rating except that it doesn't include closed captioning. That would have been more expensive to make but enabled more to enjoy it.

Comments about PBS The Journey of Sacagawea DVD:

A true American heroine who is forgotten by many. Sad that the expedition she led bears only the names on the men Lesis & Clark.
