Comments about PBS Masterpiece: Downton Abbey Season 3 Blu-ray (U.K. Edition):
This is a review of the blu-ray itself...not the series. The series is wonderful, and I love the extra features, but did anyone else have problems with the audio? Whenever I play my blu-rays the pitch of the voices sounds lowered. I'm not sure if it's just my blu-rays that I got or a problem with all of them. Having watched the episodes on tv and knowing what their voices sound like, it comes off a little strange to me when I play them on the blu-ray player.

Thanks for explaining the difference between the uk version and the us version! I'm ordering season 3 now instead of waiting 3 months! Sounds like the uk version is better anyway! My husband and I can't get enough of downton abbey!

I have the UK Versions of Season 1 & 2, the differences are huge! Lots of scenes that were left out of the US Version! So much so that you get more of a sense of the characters fully!

just wondering what the difference in the UK version of the DVD versus the US version?
Comments about PBS Masterpiece: Downton Abbey Season 3 Blu-ray (U.K. Edition):
There are a few good moments in this season and the acting, for the most part, is excellent. But overall I found it disappointing and depressing. For all the talk of post-War change, there is too little of it. The episodes don't flow together and lurch from melodrama and tragedy to failed attempts at lightness. Some characters emerge looking less likable or merely less interesting that before, although a couple emerge more sympathetic. The Finale is anti-climactic. A couple of plot lines extend throughout the series and end with quick resolutions that leave one wondering what the point was in the first place. It's getting stale.
