The Vikings were the most ferocious warriors of the Middle Ages. Especially fearsome were the select few who wielded a formidable weapon: a light, razor sharp, virtually indestructible sword with its maker's name, ULFBERHT, inlaid along the blade. Comments about PBS NOVA: Secrets of the Viking Sword DVD:

What is in a name? Considered the ultimate weapon
of the Viking era. The authentic swords that bore
this name inscribed were of remarkable craftsmanship and made of a unique steel.

This hands-on documentary film provides succinct
information packed with colourful descriptions
that truly enhances the acceptabiity of the
viewer to see it again and again!

The production is of extremely high calibre.

Strongly recommended!

Comments about PBS NOVA: Secrets of the Viking Sword DVD:

Research is good and accurate. American blacksmith is exceptionally knowledgeable and talented, and well versed in antiquity. if you are in any way interested in this subject matter this is a wonderful show. I could have had just a tiny bit less melon slicing, but that's just being nitpicky. Altogether extremely well done
