Hugh Jackman is the star and you needn't know anything more. He is sensational as Curly. Susan Stroman's staging is exciting and keeps everything lively. Maureen Lipman and Shuler Hensley are wonderful too. And oh that music!

I thoroughly enjoyed this version of the great Rodgersand Hammerstein musical. Those familiar with the Hollywood film will be surprised by the slightly darker version imagined here by the British stage director Trevor Nunn (Les Miserables) and American choreographer Susan Stroman (The Producers). Dancing is fanstatic. Star Hugh Jackman is wonderful.

Well this is a classic of course but when I saw it on PBS with Hugh Jackman...let's just say that I loved it better than the original. (How often do you hear that?) Hugh Jackman takes the role and runs with it...he is so breathtaking (not just in looks, either)! I could not believe his voice! True Magic! How can a man have it all? I don't know but he certainly does, he delivers a remarkable job! I was swept away along with the tumbleweeds! The rest of the assemble was wonderful too; beautiful voices and remarkable acting! I think the stage version is better than the movie!
