This film stayed true to Tony Hillerman's story and his characters but also gave you the visual aspects that the book could not. A glimpse into life on the rez - eye opening.

Very good movie. This completed the trilogy of Tony Hillerman stories made into movies. The price here on PBS was much more reasonable than other sources. I should have gotten all three from here.
The story does a lot to help to understand Native culture and it's relationship to modern life in the US, as do the first two movies, Skinwalkers and A Thief of Time.

I bougt all 3 Hillerman DVD's and have enjoyed them (even after reading the books). The only negative comment I have is about the opening of the DVD where the representative of the U.S. Flag is used. I don't think this is in good taste due th way the flag is displayed.

I couldn't step away or pause the movie. Wow - I have pretty much all of Tony Hillerman's novels and read them, including this one. Thanks so much.
