I never enjoy writing a review such as this, but here goes anyway. As a small boy I enjoyed watching Victory At Sea on the TV. When this series became available I, with great anticipation, added this series to my personal collection....only to be disappointed in the quality. While the pictures were all that I had expected, the music level was 'very loud', while the narration during the presentation was 'very low' thereby making it necessary of constantly raising and lowering the volume (thank goodness for the remote). Needless to say this made watching this excellent program exhausting. I fault the engineer that mixed this series with less than professionalism in their work. I expected far better of PBS. Sorry

During WWII, the news was heavily censored - newspapers, radio and newsreels in the movies were the only places to get the "very limited" news. Even though I was a teenager during WWII, I am learning of many things which occurred.

World War II was the finest hour of America's greatest generation. Victory at Sea captures some of the best of it.
