Comments about PBS Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues DVD 7PK:

An Art Cinema in Bristol England showed all the films when they came out. Wonderful to watch with like minded people. Still the best series on the Blues but do look out for Bill Wyman's film and , going back some years, The Devil's Music, a BBC series. I am old enought to have seen Muddy, Wolf and Sleepy John in London. We must be grateful that there is such good film of the music.

Comments about PBS Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues DVD 7PK:

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend for mother's day. She had a copy on vhs but we no longer have a working tape player. She asked for this again because she loved her first copy so much and wanted to watch it again. We both love blues music and watching this set is as exciting as watching it the first time. It gives us something to do together and she watches it as she studies. Our five year old even enjoys the music! Thanks PBS for bringing us something our whole family enjoys! I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in the blues.

Comments about PBS Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues DVD 7PK:

This was an "okay" film but I expected it to include a broader historical account and less live performances. But I LOVE Willie King!

Priceless....

Comments about PBS Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues DVD 7PK:

The best DVD set I've ever purchased, by far. My interest in history, combined with my love of the blues, makes this collection of seven feature-length films right down my wheelhouse. I also find the extra performance footage, directors' interviews, etc. riveting; those were features never seen when the series aired on PBS. Although sad in a way, because a number of the featured performers have since passed away. As Buddy Guy asks in one of his songs, "Whose Gonna Fill Those Shoes?". Also, the original PBS series aired on seven consecutive nights; it's a pleasure to have the DVD's and savour them slowly and at my leisure.
