This video gives a one-sided presentation of Muhammad's legacy. First, the video presents the Muslims' viewpoint about Muhammad and the growth of Islam, without any questions about its historical accuracy. Second, intermittently throughout the video modern-day Muslims were showcased. All of these Muslims were upstanding people. These people spoke glowingly of their religion. It seems that the whole intent of the video is to put Islam in the best possible light.

When I went to school our education focused on Western Europe and our religious teaching on Christianity and Judaism. Furthermore, our understanding of Islam is presently based on the radicalism of leaders who have tried to reshape Islam. It is so important for us to know more about the teachings of the Koran and to discover how much in Judaism and Christianity is also present in Islam. This DVD, largely based on Karen Armstrong's biography of Muhammed, is a good place to start.
