History of Islam from its dawn in the deserts of Mecca, to Baghdad once the center of knowledge, to the beauty of Al Andalusia, and finally the great Ottoman Empire and Suleiman the Magnificent.
In a time where the New World was not yet discovered, Europe was in its dark ages, and Byzantine was getting old, a force united Humans across three continents.
This is a real eye-opener...

Originally a gift from our local Imam, this DVD has been an excellent introduction to Islam in our World Religions class. It is interesting, engaging and thought producing.

informative journey that allows the viewer to not only see the historical progression of the faith but
to gain understanding of the tenets embodied in the
revelations given to his "messenger". The video/film is a creative mixture of acting, discussions by experts, and superb camera work and
choice of location. Five stars does not represent perfection but rather a masterful job.

Islam: Empire of Faith is by far the best historical overview of Islam I have seen. Not only is the material accurate and comprehensive, but it is presented in an interesting and engaging manner. Consequently, this is an essential teaching resource for courses on Islamic history and culture.

I first saw this film when I got a copy from Netflix. I was so impressed with this excellent documentary on Islam that I decided to buy my own copy for my personal library. Must see for people from other religions. Lot of factual information on the rise and fall of Islam from its peak. Sheds some light about the conflict between believers of Islam and Christians. A very thought provoking documentary, I learnd a lot.
