Brilliant in depth study of the Jazz era, examining the lifes of icons of the music. especially interesting was the struggle of black musicians in a world moreless comtrolled by Whites. Kudos to Benny Goodman for the integration of his Orchestra. Sincerely Chuck Hoker
Comments about PBS Jazz DVD 10PK:
I have found PBS to be a wondeful site for DVD's and CD's that I could not find before. Plus, I love the updates on what is knew and on sale. As in the past, if it is onPBS it has to be good quality and so informative.

This is a wonderful series of the history and evloution of jazz in America from its New Orleans beginnings through the swing era to the present day. It contains a lot of seldom seen pictures and film on all the well-known greats and the not-so-well-known greats. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves jazz.
