JAZZ celebrates America's greatest original art form. Ken Burns' 10-part documentary opens at the dawn of the 20th century, incorporating American culture and historical events that interact directly with the music. From the 1890s through the ferment of the Harlem Renaissance and the Jazz Age, to the Great Depression, New Deal, Second World War, and beyond, JAZZ paints an astounding portrait of a nation and its improvisational core of music.

Comments about PBS Jazz DVD 10PK:

I remember when this wonderful series was first aired back in 2001 and I never missed one episode.
It truly changed my life and openened my mind and ears to a whole new Universe. Fifteen years later, I lost count in how many times I watched the episodes. Its a masterpiece and Ken Burns earned my admiration since then. Each School and Public Library here in USA should have a copy of this documentary, to allow the young generations to better know about this wonderful music and amazing artists. Jazz is about all of us.

Wow!

By Ellen

from South Glens Falls, N.Y.

Comments about PBS Jazz DVD 10PK:

I just watched the re-run on PBS recently. This is one of the most brilliantly produced and informative and entertaining series I have ever seen on TV. I have been a viewer since the 1950's. The first time it was run I haunted record stores and built a substantive jazz collection of CD's after years of thinking jazz was not for me. I love this program. Ellen K.
