This is an excellent series following the Forsythe family through two generations. It reveals the development and change of the character Soames Forsythe from a man of property to a doting father until his untimely death.
The tragedy and unhappiness which occurs in the first generation of Forsythe's continues to have its impact on the second generation.
Note: this would be an excellent series to run during one of your fundraisers.

We picked up the Upstairs/Downstairs series set a few months ago. We became addicted and had to find some other related programs to keep from going into withdrawal pains. Finally, we rediscovered the Forsyte Saga and although we have only watched maybe 8 episodes and reserve the right to decide later--it may be better than Up/Down. Like the movies from the 30's and 40's which are our favorites, the actors in Forsyte had to sink or swim and they were up to the task, and they had no car chases or superheroes to keep it going.
Just plain acting at its finest.

Is very good indeed,the fact that is a old Masterpiece is not relevant because today the human problems are still the same ,,seeing this make me
realized we did not learn from the Past.
I love Masterpiece theater.

Brought back a lot of memories from watching it when it aired on PBS originally. Loved it.
