Comments about PBS American Experience: Death and The Civil War DVD:

as sad as this is,its put together very well.it leaves you wondering about all the unknowns, tho.those poor soldiers and familys...but it does give you insight into the huge problem they had of identifying and notifying the dead.they were so unprepared, its really heartbreaking.i do recommend this documentary to antone who is interested in all things civil war...

War and "Piece"

Comments about PBS American Experience: Death and The Civil War DVD:

Every war has death, but this American Experience program exploring how Americans came to view death brings to the contemporary viewer a sobering aspect of the Civil War. Most of us don't think about how such a basic "fact of life" as death can change over the generations. Now we will.

Comments about PBS American Experience: Death and The Civil War DVD:

Wow! A side of war that few think of. Most interesting. I had some knowledge of this, but this really pulled together many other aspects that I'd not considered or thought of. Worth a watch by all just for the understanding of the remnants of war.

Comments about PBS American Experience: Death and The Civil War DVD:

Good explanation of how major events have changed the course of history. This presentation shows the tragedy of the American Civil War. The devastating effects on families, communities, states and the nation. It also helps to explain how dealing with death and dying became the impersonal, solitary practice of the current culture.
