I just love the Inspector Lewis series. I wish they would come out with new ones faster than they do. I think they make a good couple working together as police officers. It keeps you wondering whats going to happen next. I love Dr. Hobson also and think that somewhere in this story line she and Inspector Lewis should get together. Keep them coming is all I have to say.

Saw a few random Inspector Lewis episodes on PBS and enjoyed them, then realized the lineage. At that point, I purchased and viewed all of the Inspector Morse series, and then bought and watched the first four seasons of Lewis. These stories and characters can easily stand alone, but I found it very helpful to see the development of Lewis' character over the years, and to recognize and appreciate the subtle Morse references. Hathaway is a brilliant foil for Lewis, much as the young Lewis was for Morse, and the chemistry between the main characters, including Dr. Hobson, is palpable. Exceptionally well written, with complex plots and deep human characterizations, a worthy successor to Morse.

Having all (4 DVDs) and watching them all over and over.....makes me impatient to have to wait for the next (DVD 5)..but!....I'm ordering it as quickly as possible.

Keep on producing these mysteries it will most likely be another hit from PBS.
