Jenny Rosenstrach, and her husband, Andy, regularly, some might say pathologically, cook dinner for their family every night. Even when they work long days. Even when their kids' schedules pull them in eighteen different directions. They are not superhuman. They are not from another planet.

Comments about PBS Dinner: A Love Story (Hardcover):

Bought this on a whim, and wasn't quite sure what to expect. It turned out to be a really great, very witty cookbook/biography from the author Jenny Rosenstrach. The recipes are very good and easy to follow with clear instructions and pictures. My family especially liked the 'party-in-a-pot' ragu sauce and the meatballs. Aside from the recipes, it's a great book to sit down with and find out how Jenny and her husband have learned to manage being busy working parents of two girls who still manage to sit down to dinner and eat together nightly.(the fact that she has noted down every dinner her family has had in a diary/log book is pretty amazing to me) Loved the drinks section in the book and how she referred to them as her and her husbands 'medicine' at the end of a long day. Great book with lovely recipes and a whole lot of good, witty writing to boot.
