A good introduction to the periodic table for a High school chem class. Some concepts are simplified to the point that you needs to elaborate and clarify in class and it also goes off on tangents, but it holds the attention of students (like no other chem video) and gives a platform of understanding from which to build on.

First, I love David Pogue. In the other NOVA programs he's been in he has made difficult concepts so easy to understand. This show is even better at that. Who knew that the periodic table could be so interesting! This goes into the Christmas stockings of all the kids in my extended family. I may even put one in our fish tank bowl so our pet pirhana will finally undrstand why we have that oxygen bubbler going all the time!

Sadly, this video is too dumbed-down for high school science. It glosses over too many topics and it gives the wrong impression about how reactions work. Not everything blows up.

A good effort, but falls short. Not even very entertaining.

I loved this show, it was very interesting and informative. with a show like hunting the elements, it makes learning about one of the most complex and challanging part of science easy to understand. thank you. Ps where were you when i was in chem class. LOL. Great show.

This is a great way to get kids interested in science without discouraging or intimidating them. If I had been introduced to chemistry in this way as a child I might have pursued a career in medicine or the sciences.
