I, Claudius is possibly the best insight into the Caesar era. Every voter should watch I, Claudius before filling out their ballots. It is a fantastic work of art. Skilled actors, tight script, and twists enough to make your neck ache! I, Claudius is an extraordinary series. Thank you PBS for bringing it to the public.

did enjoy it and considering that the movie is 35 years old still can be watched today even with a rather poor make up. Would recommend it to those interested in Rome BC

I read the Rober Graves book in prep school as part of my Latin study program. It's not an accurate "history" per se, but my Jesuit Latin teacher Father Pratt (S.J.) thought it provided a good feel for the historical period. When PBS first broadcast the series I was enthralled to see the story come alive, albeit not totally true to the book. But I loved it, and this new version has much improved sound and video, plus the extra features are nice. We have the series on VHS, but the quality is nowhere near as good as this DVD set. Loking forward to enjoying this classic for many more years to come. As always, ordering from PBS store was simple and reliable.
