Comments about PBS Alone in the Wilderness Part 1 and 2:
Mr. Dick Proenneke is masterful. To construct a log home with such precision is a lost art form. To watch Mr. Proenneke live off the land is awe inspiring. The harsh and breathtaking climate that he makes his home provides an even greater challenge. Also, the cadence of his narration lulls my husband and I into a trance-like state. Bravo, Mr. Proenneke!
Comments about PBS Alone in the Wilderness Part 1 and 2:
I was blessed to actually meet/visit Dick Proenneke in the late 1990's, and was charmed by him, his cabin, his lifestyle, and the Twin Lakes area. These two DVDs take the viewer inside an environment and lifestyle that most of us can rarely imagine. If you have EVER wanted to escape to a simpler time with subsistence requirements, I highly recommend these DVDs. You won't be sorry!
Comments about PBS Alone in the Wilderness Part 1 and 2:
It's so relaxing to watch it and find out that we've entangled ourselves way too much to this modern world we made.
