Comments about PBS Slavery By Another Name DVD:
Outstanding PBS. This is a great depiction of the obstacles Black Americans faced at the hands of White Industrialists, and White Government officials on the National State and local levels, after the civil war. Certainly I would suggest American History and Government and public policy teachers to make this video a part of their teaching resources. Students will definitely find that the subject matter of the "peonage System" and share cropping will be more than what their textbooks have provided. The 80 year period following the civil war will look totally different.
Comments about PBS Slavery By Another Name DVD:
It explained the fear that has traveled down through the generations. Fear of a wrong step, accidentally being in the wrong place and the possibility that you may not live to explain that you were not the problem but an innocent human just trying to live. Some things have not changed.

This is one of the most informative, interesting, and jaw-dropping documentaries that I have ever seen! It connected so many dots for me and helps me to see the South and the African American experience in the South in a whole new light. Thank you PBS!!
