This book gave me a better understanding of the Edwardian Period and the Crawley Family. It also gave snippets of Series 2 (which we have not seen in the United States). Looking forward to more offerings; particularily about the rivalry between Edith and Mary.

We enjoyed the commentary that accompanied the Downton Abbey series. The show has terrific character development as well as historical relevance. The book clarifies and points out the period significance in a changing world.

character. Also the author gives great background on
the daily lives of the different classes during World War1. Plus There are plenty of Beautiful photography of scenes of the 2nd. season. I love it. CC.

This is packed with detail not only from the show but also form those who worked there too. The vast details and duties that were done by the staff is extrodinary! Downton and houses like it were their own microcosm. Each peg depended on the other. If you are in love with Downton this will give you the perfect fix!

I absolutely love this book. It's a great curl-up with a cup of tea read. Lots of tidbits about the cast, set, costumes and some historical information as well. A+
