Lidia is a wonderful and personable Italian chef highlighting Italian Americans and their cultural heritage of cooking here in America. She shares her appreciation of the Italian products in delicious recipes both around the country and in her own kitchen and shares them with us. An enjoyable and inspiring DVD for those who love Italian dishes and wonderful stories of those who carry on their traditions. Love Lidia!

I will use this DVD in my university class dealing with the role of culture in the life of a family. It does an excellent job of moving beyond food and celebrations to the importance of culture in shaping a person's identity. To understand a student and his or her family, a teacher must understand how cultural heritage has shaped thinking.

Excellant writing, producing and directing the one hour PBS-E television special with Lidia Bastianich on Dec. 25th, 2011. I had never heard of Lidia before now. I held such interst in the different foods prepared by the different cultures. The warmth of Lidia's personality interacting with these people of different cultures was heart warming, especially at Christmas and New Years. I usually watch movies but tonight "Lidia Celebrates America" inspired me. Thank you.
