Comments about PBS America in Primetime DVD:

Bravo! PBS has done it again with this series of programs. I never felt so at home as I did watching/hearing the writers and actors talk about the arc of all of our lives as it has played out over the half-century and more of television.

The Misfits program was beyond brilliant. The mark of any good media presentation for me is coming to an emotional point where I don't know whether to laugh or cry, because it is so close to home. And what I would cry about someone else would laugh about, and vice versa no doubt. Such is the human condition, if we are willing to even try to comprehend that mystery.

The selection of writers/commentators was perfect. When David Lynch said 'there was something cosmic about knowing that everyone else in the country was watching the same thing you were' is exactly what I always felt and feel to this day. But in the days when there were only 3 networks and 3 choices--it was palpable--you were watching but also participating in the event with everyone else--you knew they were there.

I look forward to more shows like these. Please, please keep us awake.

Comments about PBS America in Primetime DVD:

I wish it had more than 4 episodes because this stuff is pure gold. It interviews so many pivotal actors, writers, producers, directors in primetime today as well as shows from the 60s, demonstrating the evolution of television and its transformation into modern literature.
