Published in 1949, shortly after the author's death, A Sand County Almanac is a classic of nature writing, widely cited as one of the most influential nature books ever published. Writing from the vantage of his summer shack along the banks of the Wisconsin River, Leopold mixes essay, polemic, and memoir in his book's pages. Beautifully written, quiet, and elegant, Leopold's book deserves continued study and discussion today.

Comments about PBS_Baker & Taylor Books Inc A Sand County Almanac: With Essays on Conservation - Paperback:

The book pictured is "A Sand County Almanac: and Sketches Here and There", published in 1968, not "A Sand County Almanac: With Essays in Conservation" published in 1970. I've read the second title and found it very interesting, informative and thought provoking, and would recommend it. I haven't read the first title, so can't comment on it.
