No one can beat the performance of Alec Guinness. Very atmospheric. Tremendous photography that sets the mood.

I saw this series the first time that it was shown on PBS, many years ago. I can't imagine that the new movie could be any better than the original---and Sir Alec Guinness is outstanding as the understated George Smiley. Good show!
