Comments about PBS Masterpiece: Wuthering Heights Blu-ray (U.K. Edition):

Of the three adaptations of this book I have seen, this is by far my favorite. The casting, script and cinematography are all wonderful. For me, Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley became Cathy and Heathcliff and played the characters with unmatched passion and brilliance. I will also note that Wuthering Heights is probably my favorite book of all time and therefore I recognize that this adaptation takes some liberties with certain plot points. However, in my mind this only served to enhance the essential themes and conflicts of the story and keeps the soul of Emily Bronte's work very much intact. Also, I definitely recommend the blu-ray version because it includes a few scenes not present in the US version. Though they are not essential to the storytelling, one in particular is so iconic from the book that I love seeing it included.
