We recorded and played back the original PBS broadcast version several times and decided to buy the blu-ray version for our library. What a surprise! The for-sale version includes extended scenes and acts entirely missing from the PBS original. Some extensions were short duration but important additions to the Zen story. Most astonishing was the Cabal extension which provided a lengthy & interesting revelation on the Italian-Ukranian dimension to murder at the villa. It was an Agatha Christie moment, missing from the PBS telecast! But, it`s there on the blu-ray version. Well worth the price!

Dont miss this series of three contemporary crime stories filmed in Italy. Rufus Sewell has never been better , and leave it to Masterpiece to film it with all its usual class. If you like great Who-done it stories, and a wonderful new kind of detective to figure it all out.....well, you have to see ZEN !Tim

Great adaptation of the Michael Dibdin "Aurelio Zen" books. I hope PBS will choose to produce more in this series. I can watch them over and over, they are so clever, and Rufus Sewell has the perfect personality to make Zen come to life. Thank you!!!
