Intersecting lives and loves of three Edwardian-era nannies--Matty, Hannah, and Lydia--unfold in a warm-hearted BBC drama. Matty, from the tough East End, worked her way up to service in a posh London home. Single mother Hannah fled a disastrous love affair. Lydia forsook her simple farm for a freethinking family in the city. All share their secrets in Berkeley Square, starring Rosemary Leach and Jason O'Mara.

Comments about PBS Berkeley Square Complete Series DVD:

This was a beautifully written "chick flick."
Each nanny's story was very well developed. I only wish there was another series. I would definitely order it.

And....and...and

Comments about PBS Berkeley Square Complete Series DVD:

So many good story lines left hanging with the choice for the ending. Delightful story with excellent acting by all. Costumes and scenes were so realistic that I felt a part of the episodes. BUT what happened to everybody. Tom,,,, did he turn out okay with such stern parents who had their own problems, how about Charlie? The love affairs...who ended up with who. A definite favorite of mine but need more from the author.

Edwardian drama at its BEST!!!

Comments about PBS Berkeley Square Complete Series DVD:

Berkeley Square, the complete series, is a remarkable miniseries drama about several wealthy families, and their staff, who live on....you guessed it....Berkeley Square.

Set in Edwardian England, Berkeley Square captures the class tensions that inevitably took place when people of different rank and power live under the same roof. The staff are at the beck and call of the Master and Mistress of the house, and their situations in life hang precariously on the whims of their employers.

As we follow the lives of the three Nannies and the other staff, it becomes evident how interwoven the functions of the servants are to the family's daily lives. The wealthy often titled homeowners entrust their children to the care of people they think are below them in every way. The irony of that should not be lost to anyone!

The costuming and sets are wonderfully accurate and meticulously done. This is a VERY believable account of life in Britian in the very early 1900's. The story has riveting twists and turns that will keep the viewer captivated the entire time. I just wish there were more of Berkeley Square to come!!!
