Great DVD, great CD--but NOT same cast

The DVD is of the 25th anniversary concert at the O2 (Oct 3), with Alfie Boe as Valjean (fabulous), Lea Salonga as Fantine (fabulous), Norm Lewis as Javert (fabulous), Matt Lucas as Thenardier (excellent), and great performances by Samantha Barks (Eponine) and Ramin Karimloo (Enolras). Nick Jonas (Marius) OK, but too lightweight for the rest of cast. Note that mix is somewhat off in second act--need to turn up volume to hear voices clearly. The Finale 1 encores alone are worth the price.
The CD is of the 25th Anniversary Touring Company with John Owen Jones as Valjean (excellent), NOT of the O2 production, which does NOT have a CD associated with it. Madalena Alberta (Fantine), Earl Carpenter (Javert--plays the Bishop in the O2), Gareth Gates (Marius), and so on. Good cast, good CD.

I especially ordered from pbs since i thought i was getting the cd of the 25th anniversary show. i like the 10th show but it's not quite as good and i would love them to make a cd of the 25th with the fantastic ending.

This DVD is so wonderful. I have watched it twice already. The music is stuck in my head. I really need to have a CD of the same cast as the DVD. Cannot imagine why they have not made one yet. It will sell off the shelves in a flash. The cast is outstanding, except for Jonas. He needs a bit more polishing..but I still say it is tops!!

I absolutely loved this production and watched it over and over (DVR). I am not sure why Nick Jonas played the role of Marius. Being on stage with Alfie Bowe and Colm Wilkinson, he seemed very average and a bit out of his element. The rest of the case was superb and it was also good to see and hear Lea Salonga as Fantine instead of Eponine. I am very happy that a CD was made. Thank you PBS!

This is the best anniversary cast yet (although not a fan of Jonas). They really should make a CD of this. I don't know why they didn't.

I saw this live in Dublin and Javert's death in whirlpools of light was magnificent as was the raising of the barricades...BUT the singer who played Enjolet (sic) in this 25th Anniversary PBS presentation should have been Marius. What a travesty to have Nick Jonas on the same stage as Colm Wilkinson. Jonas was out of his element and looked like he was well aware of it.
