This documentary perfectly captures the feeling... the essence of the time... the genre`. I know. I lived it. For those who were there and want to recapture the feeling and for those who were not and wish to be briefly transported there to get an accurate taste of what it really felt like... This IS it.

This is an outstanding verbal / visual history of the songwriters of the '60s and '70s and the Troubadour club in West Hollywood. Very interesting, don't miss it!

Comments about PBS American Masters: Troubadours - Carol King/James Taylor & The Rise of the Singer-Songwriter DVD & CD (2011):
This was so enjoyable and informative, I was disappointed when it was over. I wanted more! Besides some good music, we learn about some 1960s stars at the beginning of their careers. Refreshed a lot of what I knew, and learned lots of facts I didn't know. Very enlightening, to say the least. Interviews and comments from many current entertainers whom started in that era.
