Comments about PBS The Young Victoria (2008):
VICTORIA IS USUALLY PORTRAYED AS AN APPENDAGE OF PRINCE ALBERT OR A DOWER, FRUMPY, WIDOW. IT IS GREAT TO SEE HER TREATED AS THE INTELLIGENT WOMAN SHE WAS. AFTER ALL SHE MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING OF HISTORICAL VALUE IF AN ERA WAS NAMED AFTER HER.
THE TREATMENT OF ALBERT AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WAS SOMETHING BELIEVABLE. GIVE KUDOS TO ALBERT FOR NOT SCREWING-UP HIS MARRIAGE.
Comments about PBS The Young Victoria (2008):
Emily Blunt is marvelous, as usual. Rupert Friend hits the mark as well. Though both actors are much more photogenic than the personages they portray. Too, this is undoubtedly a romance, not a documentary, somewhat akin to Young Catherine as portrayed by Julia Ormand.
