In honor of my Mother, who was a huge fan of this series and watched it when it was originally broadcast, I recently bought the 68-episode set to see what I missed all those many years ago. It's a fascinating series. I/we watch three episodes each night and have enjoyed each and every one of them. Rose, Mrs. Roberts, and Mr. Hudson are great as are all the cast members. The dialogue is "spot on," and the series appears as if it were just filmed and not 40 years old. Sorry that Marjorie Bellamy was written out (at her request) as she was a great beauty as well as an excellent actress. It's just great entertainment to view DVDs with no swearing, no nudity, and almost non-violent. A delightful series that will be viewed by me and my friends many, many times over. I'm on the third series and almost hate to see it end anytime in the future, but with three a night, it progresses quickly. Also appreciate the closed caption feature as I am somewhat hearing impaired when it comes to British accent DVDs. Thank you PBS!

I wanted this set, but it is not captioned! I'm sure there are others like me who need captioning to 'hear' and would be willing to pay a bit more to have the captions added to this and the other great collections from PBS.

Hesitated on ordering this after some reviews but love it. Impossible to just watch one episode as it is so addictive! Will hate to get to last episode but plan to watch many times.

I was thrilled to find the subtitles available, it really enhanced the pleasure of it all. The clarity and color were perfect. I couldn't be more satisfied.......

Very informative and interesting to see the production capabilities of the 1970s as compared to present day.
