Comments about PBS Independent Lens: The Calling DVD:

I am student studying to be a clergy member, and we talk about "calling" all the time. In many respects it becomes a buzz world, but this documentary was able to move past the buzz word to the heart of what it means to serve with a purpose. This documentary has asked all the right questions ones that we are often to scared to voice.

commaraderie with the messengers

Comments about PBS Independent Lens: The Calling DVD:

As a seminary student in the Christian faith, I felt some of those same inadequacies as those in the film. Why me? or How can I carry such a burden for the lost? I also juggled job, seminary, family and a crumbling marriage. I would have gladly traded the experience for a smooth, nondescript, uninterrupted spiritural walk but the uneasy, tossing and turning of neglecting "the calling" keeps me willing to be on the front lines for the gospel of Jesus Christ. These messengers in the film have made similar sacrifices. I feel a commaraderie with all of them. This program is an inspiration.
