I recall much of the "flap" over the oil rig in the middle of the Pacific and the cost to the US for its "exploration". Found this very insightful on the true use of Mr.Hughes ship.
Comments about PBS Azorian: The Raising of the K-129 DVD:
My husband was a member of the Glomar Explorer crew that attempted to bring up the Russian sub. It is the most factual footage he has seen. Enjoyed. He has 5 sons we bought copies for them as a Christmas gift this year. If we can keep it a secret that long.
Comments about PBS Azorian: The Raising of the K-129 DVD:
Although there are tell-all books about the attempt to rise the K-129, the book by Norm Polmar described the operation in much greater detail. The video bring the operation to life, with participants describing in dramatic detail the thrills and disappointment of the team as they worked long hours and coped with great intellectual challenges to accomplish seemingly impossible feats. The result was both satisfying and disappointing. Hearing them tell it is a real thrill.
Comments about PBS Azorian: The Raising of the K-129 DVD:
Gold was $800/oz and we all thought Howard Hughes was going to mine the bottom of the ocean for gold. We posit as logical with H.H., latter we learn the truth.
